Over 27 years ago, Don Karr, original Owner of Affordable Plumbing & Remodeling, saw an immediate need for a “different” kind of plumbing service.  After a lot of research, he discovered that the consumer highly desired excellent customer service with fair prices.  Soon after, he developed these ideas into the “American Way” philosophy by offering true expertise in the respective field, while providing exceptional products at reasonable prices. 

 

Even now, after the business has been handed down to a second generation of Karr’s, that same philosophy still holds true today.  Affordable Plumbing & Remodeling is proud to be locally family owned and operated in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Back in the year 2000, the “Remodeling” side of the business was born after Don noticed a huge disconnect in the service and organization of each remodeling job he attended to as a Plumber.  He saw the frustration of his customers after they had to “project manage” their own jobs by scheduling each contractor to show up in an orderly fashion and timely manner.   It almost never worked out the way the customer had envisioned.  There were numerous delays and countless mistakes.  Don took these issues and found a seamless way to streamline this process so that it took all of the management and responsibility off the customer and put it back on his own business.  He created a one-stop shop where he could project manage every single facet of every job from the plumbing, for example, running new water lines and installing new plumbing fixtures to the carpentry, like building and moving new walls so that the job was done meticulously and on time and with sincere professionalism.   Since, he had the plumbing expertise and plumb supply already in place, he just needed to add the last element of the carpentry and not long after “Affordable Plumbing” became “Affordable Plumbing & Remodeling”.
